John Denver is a popular performer and songwriter that has influenced many with his music. The majority of his hits are based on Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico he fell in the love of Colorado and then settled in Aspen. There were many who beat a path towards Colorado after hearing Denver's popular tunes for the state he was raised in. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver was the best singer to have captured Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever to be a member. Denver is the symbol of Colorado for a lot of people across the globe. When I travel, I always meet someone from the other part of the globe, someone of New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes that comes out of their mouths is"Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was the top solo hit after appearing alongside small folk ensembles. It was co-written and recorded by Bill Danoff. Danoff created the song with Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver was introduced to an earlier version he knew right away the song was likely to become a hit single. After performing the song during a concert in Washington D.C. to a vast crowd, he recorded it just days later.
