Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to by the name Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after her hometown. Michel Horowitz' father was an author and editor and editor, as was Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's parents also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to be Jewish. She is the younger sister of Uria and half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. At the age of seven, Ryder was seven, her family relocated into Mendocino County California. Here, they did not have electricity. Ryder was an avid reader and spent her time reading books because there was no TV. Ryder began taking classes in acting at the American Conservatory Theatre when she turned 12 years old. Lucas, a 1986 film that she was in, was her debut major role. Ryder was 15 when she got it. Ryder suffered from bullying throughout high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor her behaviour could be reduced. However, it didn't come to pass. She continued to pursue her ambitions. Beetlejuice, a 1988 Tim Burton film, was her first big break. Ryder was able to continue her successful characters in numerous films. In 1993, Ryder was in the running twice for Academy Awards.
