Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston was conceived into a musical family, 9 August 1993, in Newark New Jersey. Whitney is the daughter and cousin to the singing sensation Dionne. As a child she performed in the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark. By the time she reached the age of 15years old, Houston was singing professionally as a backing vocalist with her mother in Chaka Khan's hit song in 1978 Im Every Woman. Her mother, Jermaine, and Lou Rawls were among the performers she performed with. She was also briefly a model for Seventeen Magazine in 1981. Her singing with New York-based group Material brought attention to major record labels which included Arista. She signed with Arista in 1983 and was a part of the company for the remainder of her career. Whitney Houston, her debut album released in 1985, was the top-selling album of an unproven singer. The album came out with several hits including Saving the Day, All My Love for You How Will You Know That You're Good to Love And The More Love of All. This led to her achieving seven US number one hits consecutively. She beat even the Beatles. The album sold 3 million copies its first year, and over 25 million worldwide. She won her first six Grammy Awards. The 1987 follow-up album Whitney that included hits What Do Broken Hearts Go and I Wanna Dance With Somebody built the foundation of her popularity, however it was her 1992 movie The Bodyguard (1992) that made her one of the top-selling performers of all time. While her movie performance and soundtrack was not appreciated but the Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You and The Bodyguard album that accompanied it topped charts across the world for several months. The daughter of her mother Bobbi was born the month of March of 1993, the year following her wedding to Bobby Brown. At this point when her well-documented substance abuse began. Dana Bash, also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz, is an American anchorwoman and journalist who is a correspondent for politics at CNN. Her past work includes NBC, CBS and other prestigious channels.
